Apricity Consulting and Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) (broadcastingandmedia.com) joined forces in developing an industry programme to promote awareness of the need for the Preservation of Africa’s Audio-visual Media Assets. The objective of this programme is to facilitate preserving Africa’s sound and audio-visual cultural legacies.
As a cultural retrospective, the preserved recordings and research into the history surrounding them will serve as a permanent testimonial to Africa’s heritage. It will also serve as a basis to strengthen intercontinental bonds through networks and promote the need to preserve obsolete and at-risk media.
